Label the Shades and Shapes, 400 x 175 x 300 cm, Assembled Sculpture/Installation, 2020

Reworking the conventional shapes, metal and transparent fabrics in variety of skin tones form the body in 3D to symbolise physical and mental restraint from societal standards. Do Ho Suh’s style and medium is used to illustrate different body proportions and silhouettes. Two are installed in the back and two are installed in front for the audience to play with perspectives. The audience sees balance between the figures standing from the front view, whereas one figure stands out (taller, shorter, bigger, or smaller) than the others depending on which side view the piece is seen.
